We highly recommend you take the all inclusive price of $350/person [a $35.00 saving] since the four-day tour stops are interrelated historically and geographically. Missing one or more days does not, therefore, do the tour justice in our opinion. Have a credit card handy for deposit of one day’s room rate which is $80.00 plus tax. Specify you are with the Moroccan Reunion Association. Make sure they give you the $80 rate. They are ready now to take reservations. Let them know if you have any special room requirements such as handicapped etc. The hotel will provide complimentary transportation from the airport and return on Sunday. Plan to arrive for registration on Tuesday September 20, 2011. We are rolling on our four-day intensive itinerary at 0900 Wednesday, September 21, 2011.
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Please get those Registration Forms to the Secretary/Treasurer as soon as you can. Make sure you select a banquet meal for each registrant. The menu is on Page 1 of this issue of the Sand Times. Mailing instructions are at the bottom of the form. This really makes our planning easier and better. Please arrive NLT than Tuesday (20 Sep) when we will be open in the hotel lobby for Registration. Our tour begins at 0900 the next day. You will not want to miss one exciting historical moment of what has been planned for you.The Saturday Banquet Menu on Page 1 is unique this reunion. We did a quick survey of the gourmets in our membership and by and large the vote was to offer a buffalo steak this time. So we did! Additionally, the fish and poultry selections have marvelous accompaniments.We cannot duplicate the live 12-piece band from Raleigh but we have contracted with an excellent DJ who guarantees playing selection from the tunes we enjoy most. (?) We’ll see.Costumes are a must. The ladies always seem to out shine the men when it comes to numbers properly dressed. So gents, here’s your challenge. Get out those Moroccan duds from the back of the closet and be represented as a true member of MRA. Prizes are awarded for ladies, men's and earrings contests.It could be money in your pocket at the General Membership Meeting (GMM). The Board of Directors Class of 2011 (Bradshaw, Sieborg, Grossman, and Callaway) are up for 6-year term reelection. Plan on being present at 0800 on Saturday morning for the General Membership Meeting when elections will be held and the comp room drawing will take place.
